Good Morning!
Our first mixed media class will be on Saturday, May 4th from noon to 3pm at Allyscraps in Plainfield.
I want to clarify what this class will accomplish: you will make an 8x10 inch completed canvas, using scrap book papers, paint, ink, stamps, book paper, and a black pen. NO TWO CANVASES WILL BE ALIKE!!! It is not possible to duplicate a canvas exactly. I wanted to say that, because I have taught card and layout classes before. And I know that some ladies get upset if their card or layout turns out different. Your canvas will be your individual creation.
What we will show you is how to layer a canvas. What goes first, suggestions as to what you could add to it later if you so desire. You will receive a template for a girl, and I will have a variety of sayings that can be added.
For this class, you must bring a heat gun or hair dryer, a black permanent ink pad, such as Staz-on or Archival Ink from Ranger, and a pair of scissors. We will not supply any of those 3 items if you don't have them.
What we will supply: the canvas, papers, paint, brush, Mod Podge, a variety of stamps to use, typed sayings, a Sharpie pen and tons of suggestions. All Allyscraps supplies must stay at the store to be used for future classes.
The cost of this class is $23. Please note it is 3 hours long, and will be fast paced. We will cover a lot of ground in the 3 hours. To reserve your spot prepayment is required. Please leave your phone number with us. I will call prior to class to remind you of what to bring.
This is a fun project! Hope to see you in class.

We thought it would be nice to revisit some of our more popular sketches from the blog. This is from December, 2010 by Debbie Gaydos. It was done with a Christmas layout in mind. Yeah, I know. Do we really want to think about Christmas now? I'm going to use this sketch for an autumn page. How about you?
