Bo Bunny's Love Shack

With Summer in full swing, it's time to brighten up our albums with gorgeous prints of long hot summers.

Bo Bunny's Love Shack line has beautiful, rich colours without being over-powering.

Photobucket

I used Funky as my base and made the most of the frame pattern by cutting and peeling away one corner.

Photobucket

To draw attention to the photos, I've layered Shake and the stunning Party papers which I've edged with a lace punch.

Photobucket

The stunning flowers come in a brilliant range of colours and sizes. I've 'frosted' them using my glitter technique (see previous post) but adding buttons and brads.

Photobucket

I've tucked in a tiny envelope and note to hold the journalling.

Whilst you're browsing around the store, check out 4 new kits containing a themed range of papers and matching embellishments. *sigh* Divine.

I hope that I've inspired you to add a little sunshine to your pages!

Meet the New Additions to the AllyScraps Design Team

First of all, I need to say that every single DT finalist was first rate, top quality and super to work with... we loved them all, and wish that we could accept them all to the Design Team. But, that is just not possible. So, I'm pleased to announce that joining Debbie, Morag and I will be 2 brand new Design Team members. Welcome and congratulations to....

Raechelle Bellus (scrappinRae)

Hello! I am Raechelle Bellus (pronounced Raechel) and I am thrilled to be a member of the Ally Scraps team! I am married to Kenneth and we live in beautiful Spokane Valley, WA where we get the best of all 4 seasons. We have a blended family of 6; 5 girls and 1 boy; ranging in age from 9-19. All 5 of the girls live with us, so we have 4 teens and a drama queen all under one roof. There is truly never a dull moment around here, nor much of a quiet one either. In addition to our wonderful children we have 2 dogs, 4 cats and plenty of fish.

I have been scrapping about 7 years now. I like to dabble in all areas and enjoy creating cards and altered items as well as layouts. I definitely have a girly style and like to use striped and floral papers the most.

In my free time I enjoy reading, playing Guitar Hero (my family would tell you that I am addicted, it's not my fault I am a complete level ahead of everyone else *wink*), gardening and mostly hanging out with my family doing anything.

Chris Hertel (chrispea)

I've always loved creating things. Drawing, painting, ceramics, writing stories and taking pictures. I went to art school and received a degree in visual communications. Immediately after, I was one of the lucky ones who actually landed a job at a small agency. I loved the early years of graphic design before the computer. Cutting and pasting, coloring with markers and prismacolor pencils.... using rubdown letters... no wonder I've fallen in love with the art of scrapbooking. It takes me back to the early days of graphic design when I used to get paid to color all day, rather than spend hours in front of a computer monitor. There is nothing like getting your hands dirty.

I still enjoy graphic design, and own a little design studio with my illustrator/designer husband Matt. We've been happily married 16 years. My greatest creations to date are my 12 year old daughter and my 9 year old son. I don't think I can top those beauties! We also share our house with a pug, a boxer mix, and a black and white kitty. My family, friends, nature and everyday stuff are my favorite subjects to scrap.

Recently I was published in Cards magazine with a little mini card. I have a layout being pubbed in the May/June 2009 issue of Memory Makers magazine. I've been featured a few times as page of the day on the Creating Keepsakes website. I'm rather new to scrapbooking, but am thoroughly enjoying this addictive, fun, creative hobby.

Thanks to everyone who applied, and especially to our DT finalists... you are the best!

Bo Bonny Sweetie Pie & Splendid from Fancy Pants

It's hard to believe that Spring is only around the corner. With the weather being so dreary, wouldn't it be nice to add a little sunshine to your life?

Cathy has really excelled herself with her selection of gorgeous products.

Let's start with classic Jenni Bowlin. I love these Calendar Cards.

Or how about Sweetie Pie from Bo Bunny? Those colours are just so gorgeous.

This range would also work perfectly together with Fancy Pants Splendid. Mix and match for that true designer look!

There are more new products to share later this week. Remember shipping is still only $4.95 to anywhere in the United States and we are also happy to ship internationally.

Why not drop into the forum and join in with the fun and games?

Seasonal Challenge

Has fall arrived with you?

It certainly has here! The trees are covered with golden leaves and I want nothing more than to snuggle in warm and cosy at home.

This week I've set a challenge - Scrap the Season. Create a layout that reflects the season's colours or something warm and cosy. You could create a layout about the season itself, may be what you like about the fall, or perhaps a Halloween layout. There are gorgeous papers from Prima, My Mind's Eye and K&CO perfect for the season in the store now. There's a whole section for the Fall here.

So the challenge is simple, create a layout using fall colours OR about halloween. Include something 'fuzzy' or cosy on your layout like velvet, flock or fabric.

We had fun this Halloween at a local Children's farm. I love my DD's stripey legs!

These are the gorgeous papers from Prima. They are gorgeous on both sides - I wish I had bought 2 of each. I adore the cute little owls.

I hand cut the moon from a couple of circles and 'stamped' the background with acrylic paint and buble wrap. A little glitter on top for a little sparkle.

The glitter chipboard is from My Mind's Eye - they are just so sparkly in real life and the glitter stays stuck!

So why not join in on the challenge. More details can be found here on the forum. Just upload to the gallery and link on the chat thread to be entered into the monthly prize draw for a Gift Certificate!

Enjoy the season and wrap up warm!

Day 2

Gosh, it's hard work keeping a blog isn't it? This is why my personal blog only gets updated once in a blue moon. LOL.

Well thank you ladies for your comments so far. It's nice to see some names I don't recognise there. How about some of you drop by the AllyScraps Forum and introduce yourselves? You'll be surprised to see that there is a bunch of very friendly people hanging out.

The second day then. How about focussing on you? We've been running a little Book of Me challenge. We set a prompt every other week (or fortnightly if you're English). We have a whole bunch of people who provide some inspiration for the prompt. It is a great way to try something different and get your BOM going.

The story so far; we're up to prompt 10 already. This was set by Susan. What would you write in a letter to your younger self? WOW, that was thought provoking. I for one could have written a book!

Here was my take on this.

I needed to include my journalling in a letter so I folded it up really small and tucked it in with the embellishments.

How exciting will it be in 20 years time to open it up and read it!

There are loads of shining examples to be found in the forum here. Or why not pop in on the gallery to see even more?

If you want to find out what the previous prompts are - take a look here.

So, there will be more tomorrow. I'll see if I can persuade someone to help me out with some inspiration. In the meantime. Don't forget to leave your comment for a chance at my RAK or drop by the forum to find some new friends.

Happy Scrapping!

Blog Fest

Every day for the rest of this week (well until Sunday at least), we'll be posting a bit of new inspiration. Just to keep you coming back, I will donate a RAK to one lucky person who leaves a comment this week. You can enter as many times as you like, the more comments, the more chances you have!

So how about a little sunshine to start things off? The Happy range from Chatterbox has such rich colours and fun designs. Perfect for all those summer layouts.

We may not get much sunshine in England, but it was fun adding a little to my page.

The vibrant colours look great against the brown cardstock. The Happy Stickers add just the right amount of sparkle.

Don't forget to leave a comment and check back tomorrow for more inspiration.
