Purrrfect Project #12 - Bling it On!

We set a new project challenge every two weeks - something to inspire you to take your scrapping supplies off the page.

What girl can resist a bit of bling? Your challenge this week is to add a little sparkle to your projects. This can take the form metallic cardstock such as the one used by Vee, glitter or gems. Let your imagination run wild!

This week we have yet more gorgeous samples to tempt you with. I just love this Mardi Gras mask card. Vee had used both glittery and metallic cardstock as well as gems and silver ric rac. The card is about 8 x 10" and simply fabulous.

Joannie has created a perfect place gift box to hold a pair of earrings.

Photobucket

I have created a name plate for Lauren's door. I've used DCWV glittered cardstock to cover a chipboard crown.

Photobucket

The heart and swirls were glittered (rather messy but fun). The pin trinket and flower are Maya Road

I hope that we have inspired you to take your scrapping supplies and use them off the page.

We'd love to see your creations, so upload them to the AllyScraps Gallery and link back here. All new entries will be entered into our monthly prize draw!

Don't forget there is still time to get 20% off EVERYTHING! Just enter June11 during checkout

More Purrrfect Projects

Rita has made us a lovely project for the Purrrfect Projects Challenge this week.

Our theme is congratulations and Rita has made this wonderful mini-book using a very sophisticated colour palette.

I love the use of layering and the different shapes. This album is all set for that important occasion!

Thanks for sharing it with us Rita!

You can check out this and other challenges on the forum. Don't forget, if you take part and upload to the forum and gallery, you're in with a chance for the monthly prize draw!

Happy scrapping!

Purrrfect Projects - Congratulations!

We set a new project challenge every two weeks to get the ol' brain cells ticking over.

This time around, the prompt is Congratulations!

There are many occasions to celebrate such as graduation, weddings, anniversaries so there is plenty of scope to play.

The girls on the forum and I have been busy making some samples to inspire you.

Firstly Rachel has created a generic card which could be used on so many occasions:

Photobucket

Passing your driving test is such a big milestone, that Vee's card would be a great way to say congrats:

Photobucket

My DS is taking his first guitar exam in a couple of weeks time. I'm really hoping that he passes.

Photobucket

I've made a pennant and card to mark the occasion using Scrap Within Reach. The simple to make pennant was layered with the patterned paper scraps and chipboard letters.

Photobucket

The card features a rubber stamped image using watercolours. Notice the denim ribbon? Just some old jeans torn up!

I've also gone wild and decorated the inside of the card too.

Photobucket

Well there is loads more to do and see in the forum so why not come over and join in? We have a monthly prize draw for those people who take part in any of the challenges. One lucky person will win a $10 gift certificate!

So what are you waiting for? I can't wait to meet you at AllyScraps

Purrrfect Project Friday

Time is just flying by!

This week's purrfect project challenge is One for the Boys.

I tend to create projects that are quite girly - who can resist all those pretty things on offer? So to create something more masculine is some what of a challenge for me.

Firstly, Rita has created a gorgeous frame for a baby boy.

Photobucket

I love the idea of including the hand and foot print in the frame. And just take a look at the denim swatch and metal tag.

Photobucket

I'm obviously along the same wavelength as Rita, creating a frame for my DS. I've gone for a grunge/urban look to reflect his age. He still loves to play although he is definately growing up too fast!

Photobucket

I've stamped and painted over the patterned paper to give it a bit more grunge. The robots are by Stampendous.

Photobucket

So why not join in with this week's challenge? Create something for a boy or man. It can be anything such as a card, tag, gift, etc. as long as it's not a traditional scrapbook layout. See here for all the info. You'll get a entry into the monthly prize draw for every project you upload!

I can't wait to see what you do!

Friday's Purrrfect Project

TGIF! How about something to do over the weekend?

If you are like me, then you have a whole collection of gorgeous ribbons and trimmings. They come in a whole variety of textures and colours and they can add that perfect finishing touch to a project.

So this week's prompt is to combine ribbons into your project. You can make anything as long as it is not a tradtional scrapbook page. For example a tags, cards, home decor, mini book anything goes!

This week, the team have come up with some cracking samples (as always).

Firstly, Vee has made this fabulous bra card! She's even included a shopping tag which says "Thanks for your Support" complete with price and barcode.

Photobucket

I love the flower detail and the ribbon threaded through the straps and trimming around the cups. Such a novel card, who knows where she gets her fantastic ideas from?!

Photobucket

Rae has really gone to town with some ribbon left overs making some stunning picture frames.

Photobucket

I love the colours and striking embellishments. She has managed to pull together the bright colours and patterns pefectly.

Photobucket

I have taken a cheese triangle box (which was just asking to be altered) and created a mini-album.

Photobucket

Using circle pages, they have been joined together with ribbons for a super-easy accordian album.

Photobucket

As we celebrate Mother's Day this weekend in the UK, it would make an excellent gift with a matching card.

Photobucket

So why not get out your ribbons this week to make a project? We'd love to see what you can do, so don't forget to upload to the gallery.

Thanks for dropping in

Purrrfect Projects #4 Spring

Spring really must be around the corner and with that in mind, our projects this week have all been inspired by Spring. As a little twist, the project must also include a birdie (but then, shouldn't they all?)

First up is Vee who has made a pretty wall hanging. I love projects like these, can can brighten up the dullest days (we get a lot of those in the UK).

Next up is Rita who has come up with an awesome and very original project using canvases.

I love the way the accordian book has it's own little alcove!

Cathy has blown my socks off with the amazing wreath. I love all the pretty flowers and Spring icons (particualarly partial to mushrooms).

Lee Ann has made a fabulous Spring card in my favourite spring colours.

I altered a flower box to hold my favourite photo of my DD.

The store is overflowing with Spring ranges at the moment. My favourites are Twitterpated from Imaginisce which have the cutest characters you've ever seen! Also Bo Bunny has two totally fabulous ranges and Pebbles Inc. will brighten any day!

I hope that we've inspired you to get out your supplies and take them to a whole new dimension. We'd love to see what you do so why not upload to our gallery?

Purrfect Projects

Most of us crafty people love making all manner of things, not just scrapbook pages (although they are our favourites).

We are running a challenge every two weeks where we encourage you to create something gorgeous off your page.

I have gathered together a super team to help with inspiration;
Cathy (AllyScraps), Callie Jean (Mykidsmomma), Rita (rbarakat), Vee (MrsQueenVee)
Lee Ann (lat4005), Shannon (Paddymack)

Callie Jean is moving house this week so our theme is House/Home. The girls have come up with some truly fabulous inspiration.

I hope you'll join us in the fun. Check out the forum for more Purrfect Project Challenges.

Purrrfect Projects

We like to keep you on your toes on the AllyScraps forum. As promised, I am starting a new forum creating projects.

Now I know that there may be one or two of you out there that have a little stockpile of supplies! The idea is to get the most out of your supplies by using them on projects that are not scrapbook pages.

Just to keep you on your toes, I'll be setting a theme each time. We're kicking off with Organisation. I have started with a wall organiser, clipboard and diary (because I got carried away).

This organiser is very simple to make and can be done in about an hour (although it does take longer if you want some fancy decorations!

I have made some class instructions - you can find details of how to get them on my post on the forum.

I'll leave you with a sneaky peak of the clipboard - you can see more of it and details of the rest of the challenge here.

So why not pop along to the AllyScraps forum and see what we have been cooking up?
